More than a Walk-in

More than Convenience

Avery LaCroix & Kalee Ebalaroza, NP

When Bethany woke up with a clogged ear, she expected to stop by a walk-in clinic, get it taken care of, and move on with her day.

Instead, she walked away talking about the experience.

Before she even arrived at MMC Now Westlawn, she called with a few questions. The employee who answered the phone was incredibly helpful. When she walked through the door, she was greeted with that same positive energy.

Even though the clinic was experiencing system issues and having to complete paperwork manually, the staff remained upbeat, apologetic, and focused on helping patients. One team member stood out in particular. Avery LaCroix.

"You could tell she was the kind of person who just gets things done," she recalled.

From there, every interaction reflected that same level of care.

Kalee Ebalaroza, the nurse practitioner on duty that morning, was friendly, thorough, and communicated every step of the process. The clinical team made her feel comfortable and at ease. When she admitted she felt a little embarrassed to be seeking treatment for something as simple as a clogged ear, no one made her feel rushed, dismissed, or unimportant.

Quite the opposite.

They treated her as though what brought her there mattered.

What stood out most wasn't the ear flush. It was the people. The warmth. The positivity. The way everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and focused on helping patients.

"It was just all around a great experience," she said. "Everyone seemed happy to be there, and they made me feel completely comfortable."

She came in expecting a quick walk-in visit.

She left reminded that great healthcare is about more than treating a symptom. It's about how people make you feel.
