Flanagan Achieves Board Certification with the American College of Medical Practice Executives

Murfreesboro, TN, May 2, 2011 �Denise McArthur Flanagan, CMPE, Director of Operations, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and SurgiCenter (MMC), has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification body of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Ms. Flanagan has achieved board certification in medical practice management. ACMPE certifies an individual�s professional competence when s/he passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets as outlined in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management. These include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. The individual must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.
 
Today, ACMPE membership comprises more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or Fellow status or who seek certification.
 
Flanagan has been employed at MMC since 1990 and was promoted to Director of Operations in 2005. She is responsible for planning, organizing and directing operational activities in the Clinic�s various clinical departments as well as its ancillary service and support departments. She is married to Greg Flanagan, Investigator with Murfreesboro Police Department, with one child, Kaylee. They reside in the Lascassas community. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Rutherford, served on the Leadership Rutherford Council 2007-2010 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Heart of Tennessee Chapter of American Red Cross.
