Balloon Sinuplasty
More than 37 million Americans suffer from sinusitis every year, making it one of the most common health conditions in the country.

Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinus lining that prevents normal mucus drainage through the nose. This blockage can cause mucus to buildup inside the sinus cavity and can lead to a variety of symptoms that include:
Sinus pressure
Nasal congestion
Nasal discharge
Facial discomfort
Headache
Fatigue
Loss of smell

At MMC, we offer a safe and effective treatment option for chronic and recurrent sinusitis, Balloon Sinuplasty.

What is Balloon Sinuplasty?
Balloon Sinuplasty (BSP) is a proven, minimally invasion procedure performed in your doctor’s office under local anesthesia. The BSP procedure uses a small, flexible balloon catheter inserted into the sinus cavity and inflated with water to gently push open the sinus passageway. This restructures the opening and allows for the mucus to drain providing relief.

For patients seeking relief from uncomfortable sinus symptoms, BSP is an effective, less invasive option with fast recovery time since there is no cutting of the nasal or bone tissue. With most patients returning to normal activities in 24- 48 hours.  Patients report improvement in the quality of life and are extremely satisfied with the results.
